This page describes what this site collects, why, and for how long. It is
written to be read rather than to be defensible, and it is kept in step with
what the code actually does.
WHAT WE COLLECT WHEN YOU BROWSE
Every request to this site is logged. For each one we record: the time, the
page requested, the response status and size, roughly how long it took, your
browser and operating system as your browser reports them, the country your
network address was allocated to, the site that linked you here if any, and
your IP address.
We also compute a visitor identifier so that "how many people came today" is
answerable. It is a keyed hash of your address and your browser string,
recomputed daily against a secret we can rotate. The same person is one
visitor for one day and cannot be linked to the same person the next day.
WHAT WE DO NOT DO
We do not set tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, or any other
third-party analytics service, and no third party receives your data from this
site. Your address is turned into a country using a table stored on this
server, compiled from the regional internet registries' own published files,
so your address is never sent anywhere to be looked up.
We do not build a profile of you across days, we do not sell or share anything,
and we do not attempt to identify you.
WHY WE COLLECT IT
Two reasons, and they have different legal bases under the GDPR.
Operating the site securely, which is a legitimate interest. Public web
services are scanned and probed continuously. Recognising that — and blocking
the addresses doing it — is not possible without recording addresses.
Understanding how the site is used, also a legitimate interest: which pages
are read, whether people find us through search, whether the job listings are
useful. We have deliberately chosen the least invasive way to answer those
questions: aggregate counts, a rotating daily identifier, and no cookies.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
Detailed request records, including addresses, are deleted automatically after
a retention window — 30 days by default. After that only aggregate daily
totals remain: counts of requests, visitors and bytes, with nothing in them
that relates to a person.
Records of addresses blocked for abuse are kept while the block is in force.
COOKIES
See the cookies page. The short version: the only cookies this site sets are
for the site operator's own login, and you will never receive one unless you
log in to the administration area.
CONTACT FORM
If you send us a message we store what you typed and, if you filled it in, your
email address, so we can reply. Nothing else.
JOB LISTINGS
Listings are collected from public sources — published APIs, RSS feeds, and
pages whose robots.txt permits automated reading. Each listing records where it
came from and links back to the original.
Where a listing was collected from a classifieds board, contact details in it —
phone numbers, email addresses, messaging links — are removed before we store
it. The link goes to the original advert, which is where the person who posted
it chose to publish them.
If you are an employer or a person named in a listing and you want it removed,
use the contact page. We will remove it.
YOUR RIGHTS
Under the GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected
or deleted, object to processing, and complain to the Spanish data protection
authority (AEPD).
To ask about your own data, tell us the approximate date and, if you know it,
the address you were using — those are the only things that would let us find
the records, since we hold nothing else that identifies you. If you would
rather we did not hold even that, note that the records are deleted
automatically within the retention window anyway.
