Up International Education is looking for a native or near-native English speaker to fill a Teaching Assistant position at a school in the Sarrià area of Barcelona.

Teaching hours: 28 hours per week
Educational stage: primary and Secondary pupils

Role:
The Teaching Assistant will work with Primary, Secondary and Bachillerato students, mainly supporting the development of their oral English skills through communicative activities, ESL and CLIL-based tasks. Under the coordination of the classroom teachers and English Department, the assistant will prepare and adapt teaching resources, work with groups inside and outside the classroom, support students preparing for official English exams, encourage confidence and participation, collaborate in school projects and activities, and introduce aspects of their own culture. The school is looking for an enthusiastic, creative, proactive and professional assistant who will use English consistently and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students.

Candidate profile:
We are looking for a native or near-native English speaker with an interest in education, strong communication skills, flexibility, responsibility and motivation to work with young children.

Requirements:
Candidates must hold a European passport or a valid residence and work permit for Spain. Previous experience working with preschool-aged children and toddlers will be highly valued.

Contract and salary:
The monthly gross salary is 1.106€. The first six months will be covered by a temporary employment contract. After this period, the contract will become a part-time permanent seasonal contract for 30 hours per week. The contract may continue from one academic year to the next, although the employee will only work during the designated school-year employment period.
Support provided:
Personal and administrative guidance will be provided throughout the programme, including assistance with documentation, the accommodation search and adaptation to the school placement.
